Tengku Djan Ley is Malaysia's first D1 Grand Prix Champion in 2006. He put Malaysia on the drifting world map as he took on the best drifters in the world at the D1GP All-Star World Championship @ Irwindale Speedway (Los Angeles) the same year, earning himself the nickname Tandem Assassin from his US fans.

Since then he has been invited to compete in D1GP All-Star World Drifting Championship 2007 @ Los Angeles, and in the RedBull Formula Drift World Championship 2008 @ Long Beach, California.

Tengku Djan is a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer by profession, and is the soul of the R3 pulse. He created, incepted, and brought the Race, Rally, Research brand (R3 - the motorsports arm of Proton) to its motorsports cult status today.

Tengku Djan has been a qualified Lotus Driver Training Instructor since year 2000, and was a driving instructor for the Porche World Road Show 2007. Not just adept at drifting, coaching, and engineering, he is also a skilled professional racer. A Twice Consecutive Overall Champion in the 12 hour Merdeka Millenium Endurance Race in 2005 & 2006, Tengku Djan holds an unbeaten record till this day.
